Glad to be here.
my son is 7 is a very high reader but the acts like he doesn't know math and takes all day to write a story, The teachers think he is jut being naughty, so I am taking teaching him into my own hands because they can't seem to inspire him to learn
i have been inventing magical elves that leave letters for my son to for a year now, and he is very slow to write back
The ideas of the elves is interesting. Have you tried finding a penpal for your child to see if that would encourage your child to write? I found a few sites that promise safe and kid friendly international penpals.
Giving this a try. Ollie is 7 and frustrated that he can't get his words out sometimes, and can't remember site words. He struggles with writing and phonetics, but is so witty and intuitive. He loves strategy games but really dislikes reading, and thinks he isn't smart because of it. His doctor talked to him about some of the world's most brilliant leaders and inventors who had dyslexia, and ever since he has been motivated to learn in "the way his brain understands". We are excited to see if this system helps.
Hi everyone! My name is Tyna (rhymes with China), and my 11yr old son Nathan has dyslexia and dysgraphia. We have made significant progress with his reading, but he can still barely write a sentence. Paragraphs are melt-down inducing, and we haven't even talked about essays. He's in 6th grade, and schoolwork will require more and more writing. We are teaching him to type, but he still has trouble even organizing his thoughts. Can wait to see what happens after using this program for a few months!
